Ahn Dan-tae meets Gong Shim for the first time because she drops a pot from the rooftop. She sees him again around the neighborhood, seemingly bullying students and taking their money. This is a misunderstanding, and they just can't seem to avoid running into each other.

Shim visits Dan-tae's law office to ask about suing the lady that assaulted her at the gas station. Gong Mi removes the security camera evidence from the gas station to prevent her sister from filing a case. She requests that Shim drop her case. Meanwhile, Shim ends up interviewing to become a secretary and learns that it's for Seok Joon-soo's company.

Shim finally gets her first full-time job! After seeing Dan-tae with Chairman Nam, Seok Dae-hwang gets Shim to investigate Dan-tae. Shim tries to get Dan-tae drunk to find out more about him but ends up making a fatal mistake.

Mi uses the information she gets from Shim to try and get closer to Jun-su. Dan-tae unknowingly confesses his feelings for Shim and gets embarrassed. Shim is confused by Dan-tae who keeps going back and forth. Meanwhile, Chairman Nam receives Seok Jun-pyo's necklace from 26 years ago, in the mail.

Jun-su is surprised by Shim acting cold towards him in the office. While waiting for the chairman, Dan-tae overhears a shocking conversation between her and Jun-su. Meanwhile, Mi is about to get fired from her job for evidence manipulation.

Dan-tae, Shim, and Jun-su have lunch together at the company cafeteria. Dan-tae gets jealous that Shim is so nice to Jun-su. In a battle of pride, he and Jun-su play basketball with the winner paying for coffee. All of this leaves Shim very confused.

Dan-tae teaches the secretaries that are talking behind Shim's back a lesson. He gives Shim a special gift since she's still upset about a misunderstanding they had. Meanwhile, Jun-su warns his mother to leave Shim alone when she tries to fire her for no good reason.

Yeom Tae-hui requests Yeom Tae-cheol to watch Dan-tae as he is starting to search for Jun-pyo. Tae-cheol visits Dan-tae's law office and discovers a shocking truth. Meanwhile, Mi joins the Star Group legal team at Dae-hwang and Tae-hui's request. She even gets invited to Jun-su's restaurant opening.

Shim leaves for a horticulture center in Jeju Island. Dan-tae tells Chairman Nam that it'll be hard to find Jun-pyo and that he's very sorry. Shim continues to see things associated with Dan-tae wherever she goes in Jeju Island. Meanwhile, Dan-tae has that recurring dream again. He discovers a new clue about Jun-pyo.

Dan-tae asks Chairman Nam for a job! He runs into Mi at the company, and she begs him to keep it secret that she is Shim's sister. Meanwhile, Shim chases after the manager that ran off with her and her co-workers' pay and somehow ends up getting help from Dan-tae.

Dan-tae is working hard to find the person that left his father in a coma. But he is confused by the culprit's meticulous attack. Meanwhile, Shim enters a competition to design the character for the local octopus restaurant. She's only able to do so because Dan-tae encouraged her about her talent for drawing.

Jun-su is shocked after finding out about Shim and Dan-tae's relationship. A strange tension grows between Dan-tae and Jun-su and they start to become distant. Meanwhile, Tae-cheol falls for the trap laid by Dan-tae and revisits the arboretum which is the scene of his crime.

Jun-su gets drunk and ends up sleeping at Dan-tae's place. He is shocked by a memo left by Dan-tae on his calendar. Meanwhile, Shim can't hide her feelings for Dan-tae and goes all out to try and woo her crush. At Gong Cheol's request, she goes on a trip with Dan-tae to paint a mural for another restaurant owner.

Jun-su starts to suspect Dan-tae's identity. Dan-tae acts really distant with Jun-su in order to hide the fact that he's Jun-pyo. Meanwhile, Dan-tae visits Chairman Nam's house and some of his childhood memories return to him.

Dan-tae spots Jun-su continuing to act suspiciously. He loses his trust in Jun-su and suffers from the thought of not being able to be friends like they once were. Meanwhile, Jun-su waits for the results of Dan-tae's DNA test convicted that Dan-tae is Jun-pyo. With this, he proposes something to Tae-cheol.

Jun-su returns from a business trip and is shocked by the result of Dan-tae's DNA test. He goes to meet with Dan-tae. Meanwhile, Dan-tae can no longer stand to see Shim suffer from her one-way attraction and asks to meet her.

Dan-tae discovers that the new job Shim got was at Jun-su's company. He doesn't like the fact that Jun-su and Shim will always be around each other. Meanwhile, Tae-cheol is pleased that his plan of splitting up Dan-tae and Jun-su is working. He believes that everything is going to plan.

Dan-tae discovers that it was Tae-cheol who kidnapped Jun-pyo. He pays Tae-cheol a visit and gives him a stern warning. Meanwhile, Jun-su is devastated to learn that his mother was in on the kidnapping. He decides to join forces with his uncle.

Dan-tae and Jun-su set a trap for Tae-cheol in order to secure evidence that he carried out the kidnapping. Meanwhile, Shim is pressured by the fact that Dan-tae was the heir of a conglomerate. But Dan-tae confesses his feelings for her, and they no longer have any obstacles in the way of their love.

Tae-cheol's underling tries to run Shim over as she leaves work. Jun-su sees this happen and is shocked. Meanwhile, Dan-tae wants to ask Shim to go to the U.S. with him but it's not so simple for him to do so.
