On Ricky Cooper’s 40th birthday, his mother-in-law decides to move out leaving him to play cook, maid, and mother. Meanwhile, his three daughters decide to get him back into the dating game by opening a lawn-front dating service disguised as a lemonade stand.

Ricky starts seeing Katie, a woman he believes he’s interested in. Turns out, he enjoys playing baseball with her three sons more than the actual dates. Meanwhile, Ricky’s youngest, Gigi tries out for the lead role in the school play.

When cleaning supplies and groceries become scarce, Ricky must do the shopping for the entire house for the first time. Ricky’s middle-daughter Elisa is left trying to balance school work and maintain the house.

The girls decide It’s time to give Ricky a complete lifestyle makeover and even hire the perfect girlfriend for him – behind his back. Meanwhile, Mirabel discovers she’s more than just a pretty face by treating the school nerd with respect and getting respect in return.

Mirabel gets her sisters rethinking their wardrobes when she’s stopped by Ricky trying to leave the house wearing an inappropriate outfit. Meanwhile Ricky’s brother and sister-in-law ambush him with a double date.

Rosa notices that the Cooper family is absent of their Mexican heritage and teaches them all to Salsa at her senior’s bingo night. Meanwhile, Gigi struggles to hide her intelligence so she can fit in with friends at her school.

When a boy starts to admire Elisa, the popular girl makes her the laughing stock of the 6th grade. Mirabel quickly understands the downsides of being an Instagram celebrity and Rosa finds her calling as the elementary school’s counselor.

Ricky falls for Stephanie’s friend which ignites jealousy in Stephanie. At home, Gigi feels left out when Elisa and Mirabel start bonding more over their teenage interests. Stephanie impulsively asks the gym hunk out in reaction to her confused feelings about Ricky.

The Cooper clan takes a camping trip to revisit the old cabin they used to frequent with Ricky’s late wife and the girl’s mother, Isabella. Throughout the trip, his girls (and neighbor Todd) help Ricky realize that he has feelings for Stephanie. Ricky helps Mirabel come to terms with her memories of her mother on trips past. Todd flexes his pseudo-botanist skills helping Elisa complete an environmental project for school.

With Elisa’s graduation, Ricky comforts Elisa in her sadness that her mother isn’t there for the major events in her life. And the tension that’s been building between Stephanie and Ricky finally comes to a head.
