Pip, an orphan who yearns for a greater lot in life, has a chance encounter with escaped convict Magwitch that sets him on an unexpected path and into the clutches of the mysterious and eccentric Miss Havisham, who shows him a dark world of possibilities.

While Pip continues his education with Miss Havisham, he grows increasingly attached to her daughter Estella. In the city of London, the corrupt and powerful lawyer Mr. Jaggers gets a letter that will change Pip’s life forever.

Having left his life in Gravesend, Pip has a brutal introduction to London, working for Mr. Jaggers. Meanwhile Estella discovers a plan of Miss Havisham’s.

As London life begins to take its toll, Pip’s immoral work with Jaggers brings Estella back into this life.

Pip’s past comes back to haunt him as he wonders if he will ever take control of his own destiny.

As Pip and Jaggers’ plans come to a head, Miss Havisham finally comes face to face with her demons and Estella at last tries to break free after a family revelation.
