Ito Akira, a 17 year old and serious student, meets the innocent Nishi Yuuki on the way home while playing the "white line game." Burgeoning feelings result in Ito feeling confused and avoiding Yuuki.

19 years old now, Akira and Yuuki continue to have a good relationship with each other but haven't gone beyond their kiss. One day, when Akira tries to further their relationship, Yuuki rejects it. Yuuki, unable to figure out his own future, is beginning to feel envious of Akira's steady moving towards his own goals.

Now 25 years old, Akira and Yuuki are now working and living together. Shiraishi Honoka also begins working at their company. Yuuki invites Akira on a weekend trip and confesses that he wants to quit the company and begin working as a screenwriter.

Akira is now 32. He broke up with Yuuki and married Honoka in search of ordinary happiness but it didn't last long. One day, his sister brings a foreign husband to their parent's home and causes trouble. Akira confesses the feelings he has for Yuuki to his mother who refuses to accept his sister's husband. Akira begins to look for Yuuki but three years have passed...
