An old man knows of a power spot, an ancient forest called Ryuga, but other's don't believe he's right. Lightning flashes there, and to the south, Niruwanie awakens, and makes its way north.

There is an advertisement for a new hair care product, done by an idol called Miki. Emiko tries to interview her, but her attitude is rather adverse.

Kuroki, a fellow researcher who worked with Haibara in the past, fell into a pit and find a lid. It seems human emotions like evil and greed are enclosed by the lid. Kuroki is urged by a grotesque monster named Mahler to open the lid.

Haibara, Emiko, and Shohei stumbled upon a town where nobody speaks a single word to each other. However, there is a strange kindness to the town. The residents of the town are all "Epigonoids," who have a special power. What is their secret?

Yuki washes up on a remote island where she finds the incredibly smelly monster Sedegan. As two lonely individuals, they grow close, but eventually it is time to part. After returning to the city, Yuki discovers that the compounds that make Sedegan reek can be used to make high quality perfume.

Enormous conch-shelled gastropods have surfaced in droves all over Japan. Despite Professor Yajima's protests, the government is propelled by the ambition of a certain figure towards the forceful extermination of the creatures. As a result, the world is gripped by fearsome circumstance!

A mysterious man shows up at Shohei's bar who introduces himself as Hata Gi-Nour, an alien. To bring peace to his home planet, he's come to find the successor to their imperial throne. Shohei and company have their misgivings, but nevertheless, the alien begins to follow around a boy named Koichi.

Japanese businesses struggle after steep goals for greenhouse gas emission reduction are set. However, something rises to their aid. Monsters called "Prana" evidently have the ability to purify air. People blindly put their faith in the Prana, but their size grows.

In the past, Michiru was a member of a track and field team, but is now wheelchair-bound after an accident. She helps the monster Falmagan, which was being bullied, and it falls in love with her. Falmagan is determined to heal her legs. There is a way, but it must sacrifice its own body in the process.

In the middle of a tense transgression, a massive being suddenly appears in the sky. The being calls itself Argos, and gives the people an ultimatum. Who will they sacrifice? The terrorists and the citizens? Or the prime minister? The entire nation is asked to cast their ballots and decide, in the name of democracy.

Preserved in an ancient layer of earth, the parasitic creatures that delay aging in their host, "Soma" are discovered. Some of the most talented humans are assembled to be surgically paired with the creatures. Among them, however, is a girl who questions what it means to live. And Haibara has his own misgivings...
