A Polish-American woman inherits a mansion in a small village of Wilkowyje. She arrives in Poland with a plan to renovate it.

A flu epidemic breaks out in Wilkowyje. Witebski, the Polish teacher, comes up with the idea of starting a local newspaper.

Mayor fills the second edition of the newspaper with anticlerical propaganda. Lucy unwittingly starts a dog shelter.

Lucy's shelter fills up. Kusy gets Witebski to issue a fake segment about the European Union household dog subsidies.

Mayor spreads a rumor that Lucy wants to breed goats. Hadziukowa wishes to join the business.

Lucy asks doctor Wezół to do a lecture on contraceptives. Kusy continues the struggle to stay sober.

Lucy is kidnapped. Kusy gets the priest and mayor to act. Kidnappers' wives take matters into their own hands.

A supernatural event worries the village. Lucy finds a solution, but it requires the priest and mayor's cooperation.

A European Union delegation visits Wilkowyje. Due to certain circumstances, the priest will replace the mayor.

The mayor is sure he will win the oncoming election, when he finds out Lucy is a candidate as well. He sends a spy to join her committee.
