EP 1AvailableNos ancêtres les Schwytzois
Premiere this evening with Werner Stauffacher and the Battle of Morgarten. In 1315, peasants from central Switzerland rose up against the Habsburg domination. Tradition has it that they achieved an overwhelming victory at Morgarten. Led by the Schwytzois landaman Werner Stauffacher, they ransacked Einsiedeln Abbey. Leopold de Habsbourg's punishment led to the battle of Morgarten, which ended in a victory for the Swiss, and marked a turning point in the history of the Confederates. But the doubt persists: where does the myth begin, where does reality stop?
